Website Design for Service Businesses in Western NC, SC & TN

Stop Hunting for Leads. Start Farming Them.

I don't build e-commerce stores or portfolio sites. I build one thing: lead-generating websites for service businesses, because I've run one myself since 2010. Google Ads is hunting: you spend money, maybe come home with something, and start back at zero tomorrow. Organic search is farming: plant it once, right in your own backyard, and it keeps producing season after season. That's been my #1 source of leads for sixteen years. Not theory, my own invoices. I build you a website that farms. Not one that hunts.

Why It's Different

Why we build this way, in plain English.

Most business websites are built on WordPress with a stack of add-on plugins. Ours aren't. Here's what that actually means for you.

Fast, everywhere

Your site is copied to servers all over the world, so it loads instantly whether a visitor is next door or three states away. Slow sites lose visitors before the page even finishes loading, and Google ranks fast sites higher.

🔒

Nothing to hack. Nothing to break.

Most business sites run on 20 to 30 stacked plugins, each one a door a hacker can try, and updates that conflict with each other overnight. Yours has no login page, no database, no plugins: nothing to break into, and nothing that breaks on its own while you're not looking.

Changes, same day

Need a new page, a photo swapped, or your hours updated? We're not waiting on a slow content system or standing in a developer's queue. Most changes go live the same day we start on them.

💰

Pay once. Own it. Keep harvesting.

No monthly "platform fee." No forced plugin-subscription. Unlike ad spend, which stops producing the moment you stop paying, this is planted once and belongs to you: the domain, the files, the content, and every lead it grows for as long as it's live.

🔍

Built to rank, not just built to look good

Every page is written with search engines in mind from day one: the right structure, the right details for your city and service. The crop, planted right the first time, not bolted on after the fact with a plugin.

📈

We watch what people actually search

Not Google Ads. Not a confusing analytics dashboard. Google Search Console: the exact terms people type before they find you, what they click, and where you rank for each one in your own city. That's the real data, and it's what drives every yearly update.

The System

A flywheel, not a treadmill.

Paid ads are a treadmill: stop paying and the leads stop cold. This is a flywheel. Every turn feeds the next, gets cheaper, and points back to the one thing you own outright, your website.

YOUR WEBSITE YOU OWN IT 1 TRAFFIC 2 CALLS 3 WORK 4 REPEATS 5 REFERRALS
  1. 1

    Drive traffic to the site

Direct mail and flyers do the heavy lifting, backed up by yard signs and truck wraps. Real, local, physical, all pointing at your website.

  2. 2

    The phone rings

Leads come in from the mail and from organic search, without ad spend bleeding out every month whether it works or not.

  3. 3

    You do great work

The job itself is the marketing. A customer treated right is the seed of the next two turns of the wheel.

  4. 4

    Call and text your repeats

The cheapest job you'll ever book comes from a customer you already have. Reach back out, every season, on purpose.

  5. 5

    Referrals send the rest

A simple referral program turns happy customers into your sales force, and the people they send land right back on the site.

Little to no paid online ads. Every turn is cheaper than the last. That's the difference between owning a machine and renting one.

Not a Sales Pitch

Sixteen Years of My Own Data

I didn't build this website philosophy on theory. I built it on sixteen years of my own CRM data from my own service business.

~46%of new customers came from Google, overwhelmingly organic, not paid
17:1Google vs. Facebook lead volume, same 16-year window
~40%of all tracked revenue was repeat customers + referrals
~5xmore spent on 2 years of Google Ads than a decade of SEO combined

Google, overwhelmingly organic and not paid, has generated roughly 46% of every new customer I've acquired, excluding repeat business and referrals. That's about 17 times more volume than Facebook produced in the same window. And the two years I spent running Google Ads? The ad spend alone came to several times more than everything I'd spent on SEO across the previous decade combined, for a small fraction of the trackable leads. I stopped. I went back to farming.

Repeat customers and referrals, the two things that only happen after someone finds you and has a good experience, made up nearly 40% of all tracked revenue. That's the flywheel: organic search brings the first job, the first job earns the repeat, the repeat earns the referral. Paid ads can't do that. They can only buy the first click, over and over, forever.

Who Builds It

You are not hiring an agency. You are hiring an operator.

I own HydroClean Pressure Washing here in Hickory, North Carolina. I have run it since 2010. I have washed the houses, quoted the jobs, answered the phone at seven on a Saturday morning, and made payroll in a slow February. Building websites is what I do on the side, and it grew directly out of running the first business, not the other way around.

That order matters. Most people who build a website for a service business have never run one. They have never watched a season go soft. They have never had to know, by Friday, whether the money spent on marketing actually turned into work on the calendar. I have. So when I build your site, I am not guessing at what a contractor needs. I am building the thing I needed, the thing I built for myself first, and the thing I still run my own company on today.

The three sites above are mine. Not client work I am borrowing for a portfolio, not mockups, not templates with someone else's logo dropped on top. They are my own companies, they take my own leads, and they are the reason I can tell you what works instead of what sounds good.

Everything on this page came out of sixteen years of my own invoices. I also wrote a book about it, Small Market Big Profits, published under J.D. Murphy.

What You Are Promised

The risk is on me, not on you.

No contracts to escape from, because there is nothing to escape. Here is what you get in writing.

🔑

You own it outright

The site is built into your own Cloudflare account, in your name. The domain, the files, and the content are yours. If you ever want to walk away from me, you keep everything and you owe me nothing. I cannot hold your website hostage, by design.

💳

One price, agreed before I start

You get a real quote, not a range that creeps. No monthly platform fee, no hosting markup, no retainer, ever. If the scope genuinely changes, we agree on it first. You will never open a surprise invoice from me.

Revisions before it goes live

Every package includes revision rounds before launch, so you see it and shape it before the public does. I would rather change it four times now than hand you something you quietly do not like.

💬

Small changes stay free

A phone number, your hours, a sentence of copy: no charge, for as long as the site is live. I am not going to bill you seventy five dollars to fix a typo, and you should not have to think twice about asking.

👤

One person, start to finish

You talk to me. Not a project manager, not a ticket queue, not an offshore team you never meet. The person who quotes the job is the person who builds it and the person who answers when you call afterward.

A reply within one business day

Before the sale and after it. I run a service business myself, so I know exactly how it feels to leave a message and hear nothing back. I am not going to do that to you.

Getting Started

What we need from you.

Five things, and we can start building.

1

A free Cloudflare account

Takes about two minutes at cloudflare.com. We build your site directly into your own account, so you truly own the hosting, not us. No cost to you; Cloudflare's free tier is what your site runs on.

2

Your photos

Real job photos, your team, your trucks or shop, your logo if you have one. The more real photos you can send, the less generic the site looks. This is usually the single biggest difference between a good site and a great one.

3

A site you like

Send us a link to any website whose look and feel you like. It doesn't have to be in your industry. It just gives us a starting point for the style.

4

Your colors

If you already have brand colors or a logo, send them. If not, tell us the general feel you want (bold, clean, warm, professional) and we'll build a palette around it.

5

The basics

Your services, the towns or areas you serve, your hours and phone number, and anything on your current site (if you have one) worth carrying over.

Get a Quote

Tell us about the business.

A few details and we'll come back with a real quote, not a form-letter estimate. If it's a fit, we can usually turn the whole build around in about a week.

  • One flat price, no monthly "hosting" markup
  • Built once, fast, not a twelve-month drip-feed
  • You own it: the domain, the files, the content

No spam, no obligation. We'll reply within one business day.
